The Lord Who Is Here
There is an interesting prophetic name given to Jerusalem in the Messianic kingdom: “The name of that city from that day shall be Jehovah Shammah, THE LORD IS THERE” (Jeremiah 33:16). With the LORD being THERE, the Apostle John speaks of “silence in heaven about the space of half an hour” (Revelation 8:1). The reason is as “clear as crystal” (for) “in the midst of the throne” (Revelation 4:6, 21:11), that silence would be broken with a “great voice of much people … saying, Alleluia; salvation, and glory, and honour and power, unto the Lord our God” (Revelation 19:1). The LORD WHO IS THERE brings the majesty of his presence revealed to the redeemed for them to praise HIM in glory. Oh, may we too have a silent heart-felt contemplation of the Lord in his presence with us NOW, and may our praise break forth in glory, majesty, and honor today, because the Lord who will be there is with us HERE NOW. You see, the same Lord who will be there is the Lord eternal: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Yes, the full revelation of our LORD SHAMMAH is reserved for that future glorious day: we will see HIM, we will be like him, we will be with him, we will enjoy the glorious presence of the LORD WHO IS THERE. Here’s the blessing for the redeemed TODAY, enjoy his presence today, walk with him today, be filled with his Holy Spirit today, acquiesce the glory, honor, power and majesty of the LORD WHO IS HERE today.
THE LORD WHO IS THERE is the Lord who is also HERE, with you, in you, revealing his majestic presence to you being the redeemed, now deciding to walk in his presence. As the city of Jerusalem will be overwhelmed resonating his glorious name with the presence of JEHOVAH SHAMMAH dwelling there, may the place of his dwelling today be filled with his overwhelming presence. Oh, dear child of God, “ye are the temple of the LIVING GOD; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16). Yes, there was silence in heaven for a short time, most likely a period for the redeemed to contemplate the presence of their newly found worshipful experience, dwelling with and IN HIM in heaven’s fullness of his glory. Their SHAMMAH is now before them, of whom their hearts could be silent no more. Being astonished in the presence of the person of HIS majesty, their hearts started to burst forth in praise and worship. Oh, be silent dear Christian, only for a little while, a quiet time only to contemplate the LORD WHO IS HERE, then break forth in praise for WHO HE IS; he is now dwelling in your heart as the LIVING GOD - WHO IS THERE! Yes, live in his presence and praise him NOW. Then, live out the power of who he is in HIS glory, honor, majesty and power NOW. Alive, dwelling in “the LIVING GOD” (2 Corinthians 6:16) NOW. That is who he is in heaven’s glorious apparel NOW; the redeemed dwelling in HIM cannot, will not, and shall not be silent. OH, “that my glory may sing praise to thee, and be not silent, Oh, LORD my God” (Psalm 30:12)
