Want to Shine, Ladies?
What a word: VIRTUE, but it is more than a word, it is a life changing activity that spiritually happens in a heart touched by the Lord who graciously bestows it. When it comes to virtue in the life of a mother, namely God’s moral excellence, IT first changes mom, and that brings the opportunity for the Lord’s transforming power in the lives of her children. There is nothing that brings more beauty to the Biblical role of motherhood than for God’s virtue to become MOM’S virtue, to become the child’s virtue. What then resides in her becomes OF HER, to extend from her, being a most precious asset to her family. You see, what she possesses from the Lord, she then can live out as a clear testimony before those who then “want to be like mom.” You cannot be somebody you’re not; the Lord has to do HIS marvelous creative work, period! So, the question from the Lord is addressed to every lady who desires to make a difference in the lives of her children: “Who can find a virtuous woman?” And the finding of God’s virtuous life in her life tells others how valuable SHE THEN CAN BE: “HER PRICE is far above rubies” (Proverbs 31:10).
Valuable? Yes, and here’s why: Virtue does not stand alone in a life dedicated to the role of motherhood; God attends it and virtue does spread because GOD IS IN IT. It has to spread, because as life grows, virtue grows, and the life in God is a growing life in those who fear the Lord; and it will show itself, IT HAS TO! “The fear of the LORD tendeth to life” (Proverbs 19:23). Tendeth? Yes, “alive and springing up with activity” and then, with the Lord IN MOM, it’s all about HIS LIFE -ACITVE! When the Lord writes HIS virtuous life on the heart, it is “known and read of all men” (2 Corinthians 3:2). So then, “her price” cannot be hidden, just as the sparkle of a ruby gem will meet up with the attraction of an eye’s desire, all because of its brilliancy and value. Here’s the added dimension, virtue exceeds that and is “far above” the price of a gem, because mom’s virtue is a heap more valuable than the reflection of outer attractiveness: “Beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30). There’s the hidden part found in a woman of virtue, VISIBLE AND ON DISPLAY: “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price” (1 Peter 3:4). You see, that’s the wisdom and knowledge of God concerning virtue. And “the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom giveth life to them that have it” (Ecclesiastes 7:12). And that “wisdom maketh the face to shine” (Ecclesiastes 8:1). Want life? Want your face to shine? Then here’s the MOM QUESTION: How much do we value GOD’S virtue, and the willingness for the price paid, which is a heart’s surrender to the fear of the Lord. It will then evidence itself in virtue’s preciousness defined in mom’s new found virtuous children. Once again, “Want to shine ladies?”
